Job description: Kai Tak Sports Park is a fully integrated sports, leisure and entertainment destination that is expected to be completed in 2024. The 28 hectare park will be part of the redevelopment on the site of the old Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak. Kai Tak Sports Park Ltd (KTSPL) has been awarded the contract to undertake this project. ASM Global, through its subsidiary company in Hong Kong, SMG China, has been engaged by KTSPL to be the Operator of Kai Tak Sports Park.

Role Introduction
The Assistant Manager Business Systems (Event Management) will be a key person responsible for the event operations of the Business Systems at the Sports Park with specific knowledge of event management systems. This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of event-based business systems and will be involved in the planning and execution of these applications. This position will collaborate with internal and external vendor teams with overall responsibility for event management technology planning and deployment of technology for various projects and support.
Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Manager IT Central Services, GM/AGM Technology and Digital to lead the technology event planning strategy and execution.
  • Involves in planning, project management and implementation leadership, identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
  • Build & drive the event management budget for the region.
  • Work closely with and manages vendor partner relationships. Participate in formulating the company’s enterprise architecture and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility, and ensuring the plan is aligned with and supports the business’s strategic goals.
  • An understanding of event management software and how the back end of the application is managed and developed.
  • Form a close working relationship with the Events Team when it comes to setup and configuration of the event management application to tailor make bespoke project based solutions to fulfill the event owners requirements.
  • Be responsible for business system planning and adopting appropriate solutions in our environment.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams and vendors to understand their processes and provide improvement suggestions.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and recommend appropriate IT solutions.
  • Analyse business requirements and lead the system design to meet the business needs.
  • Perform any other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or above in Information Technology or related disciplines
  • Experience with event management software is a must.
  • Experience with event management, as well as best practices in event planning and communication.
  • Working knowledge of cloud system environments.
  • Hands-on technical experience and functional depth enables direct oversight, problem-solving leadership and participation in event management and operational troubleshooting.
  • A keen interest in the sports venue industry and innovation in the technical kit, actively seeking information and sharing internally with the team.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills along with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised, able to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Professional approach along with excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and energetic as well as being a real team player and happy to work in a fast-paced environment.
